WORKBOOK COMPARE PRO PRE-RELEASE EVALUATION AND LICENSE TERMS Last updated: September 6, 2026 IMPORTANT PRE-RELEASE NOTICE These terms are included so the 0.9.14 commercial workflow can be tested. Before Workbook Compare Pro is offered for sale, the software provider should replace this notice with terms containing the provider's legal name, contact details, governing law, and any required regional terms, and should have the final text reviewed by a qualified attorney. 1. LICENSE Subject to these terms, the software provider grants the person or organization receiving Workbook Compare Pro (the "Software") a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use it. A trial may be used for 7 days. A purchased single-computer license may be used on the computer identified by its Installation ID. A perpetual 1.x license permits continued use of releases in the 1.x product line; it does not promise future major versions or services. A move to a replacement computer requires the provider's approval and a new machine-bound code. The user must first release the old computer and provide the resulting transfer receipt when the old computer is available. 2. RESTRICTIONS The Software and license code may not be resold, shared, sublicensed, rented, or used to provide unauthorized access to another person. Except where applicable law expressly permits it, the user may not bypass license controls, reverse engineer the Software, or remove ownership notices. Ordinary backup copies are permitted. A license code released from a computer may not be restored or used again on that computer. 3. USER FILES AND PRIVACY Workbook comparisons run locally. The Software does not upload workbook cell contents, formulas, images, or worksheet data. Optional update checks and diagnostic reports are described in the bundled Privacy Notice. The user is responsible for source files, backups, and deciding whether to share a locally generated diagnostic report. 4. UPDATES AND SUPPORT Updates and support, if offered, are governed by the provider's current support policy and the license purchased. The Software may identify an available update but does not silently install one. 5. OWNERSHIP The Software is licensed, not sold. The provider and its licensors retain all rights not expressly granted by these terms. Third-party components remain subject to their respective licenses and notices. 6. WARRANTY DISCLAIMER TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE PRE-RELEASE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. THE PROVIDER DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR SUITABLE FOR EVERY WORKBOOK OR WORKFLOW. 7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE PROVIDER WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA, LOST PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION. ANY AGGREGATE LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE DURING THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW EVERY EXCLUSION, SO THESE LIMITS APPLY ONLY TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED. 8. TERMINATION The license ends if these terms are materially violated. On termination, use of the Software and its license code must stop. Sections intended by their nature to survive termination will survive. 9. GENERAL If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. These terms do not limit rights that cannot legally be waived. Final commercial terms must identify the contracting provider and applicable governing law.
