Get the Windows app
Workbook Compare Pro is a Windows x64 desktop application. Start with Request Eval; we send the download and setup instructions by email. There is no public installer download on this site at the moment.
The app compares local .xlsx, .csv, and .tsv files. Microsoft Excel is not needed to run a comparison. Opening an inspection copy in Excel naturally needs an associated spreadsheet application.
Install from Setup
- Download the Setup file from the link we send you.
- Run Setup and follow its prompts. Installation is for the current Windows user and normally does not need administrator rights.
- Choose the offered desktop or Start menu shortcuts and project file associations if you want them.
- Open Workbook Compare Pro and try Samples & tour → One changed number.
The seven-day full-featured trial starts on first launch. The sample cards load and run their examples, so you can learn the results screen before choosing your own files.
If you were supplied a portable ZIP instead, extract the entire ZIP to a folder and run the app there. The portable package does not add Setup’s shortcuts, file associations, or uninstaller.
Check your file format

| Protected or unreadable files | Make readable comparison copies you are authorized to access. The app does not remove encryption. |
Normal comparison does not edit the source files or recalculate formulas. There is no workbook merge or spreadsheet editing feature. File size and available memory still affect practical processing capacity.
Update or uninstall
When we supply a newer Setup, install it over the existing version. Your workbooks, projects, reports, license state, and trial dates are kept. Use the website’s release notes and Contact us for update questions; do not rely on an automatic in-app update check being configured in the current build.
To uninstall, use Windows Settings → Apps → Workbook Compare Pro → Uninstall. This removes the application and its shortcuts, not your own workbooks, projects, or reports. Uninstalling does not release a license or reset a trial.
Online and offline help
Help & support in the app remains available without an internet connection. Use it for the included reference and the About & support area. This website adds longer guides, downloadable exercises, and videos.
The app’s existing Help button has not moved. Both forms of help are available; you do not need the website open to compare files.
